A lot of religions and so called Christian denominations do not believe in hell. However, in the bible it clearly stats that there is a hell. It is described as a bottomless pit (abyss), a lake, darkness, death, destruction, everlasting torment, a place of wailing and gnashing of teeth, and a place of gradated punishment amongst other things.</div> <bR> <div> Hell it seems is not that nice warm place your grandparents tell you they are going to to keep warm in the winter months but a place that should be avoided at all costs. Jesus used a powerful image to illustrate the seriousness of hell.“If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out.” Obviously it does not literally mean cut off your hand but it is used to show the seriousness of hell.</div> <bR> <div> There is no Purgatory either which is meant to be the place between heaven and hell. You are either saved in this lifetime of not. There is no get out of hell free card. Once you have passed from this world, there is only two doors; one to heaven and one to hell.
